Carlos Yamasaki is a multi-talented drummer and percussionist from Lima, Peru. From an early age he showed interest in music and the continued support of his mother, the renowned singer Eva Ayllon, opened the doors to the fascinating world of music. At the age of four, he was playing percussion instruments from his native Peru such as the Cajon, donkey jaw and Cajita.
As time went by Carlos kept his passion for drums and under the baton of his musical godfather Alex Acuña, he discovered the infinite world of percussion.
When he moved to the Big Apple many doors were opened with some Latin and world music groups like Verttigo (Latin Grammy nominated band), Bareto (Peru), Ndaje (Senegal), El Klan (Bolivia), and Grupo Baron (Mexico). He also experimented with the rock, Jazz, funk and currently he is playing percussion with the Spanish Flamenco band Kanutto Garabatto.
