Biography

Jeroen de Rijk (1962) is a free lance multi styles percussionist based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Since 1981 he works in studios (± 300 CD's, numorous commercials), live situations and as a clinician for Meinl Percussion Instruments and Cymbals.

Jeroen recorded and/or played live with the likes of Yellowjackets, George Duke, Candy Dulfer, Gino Vannelli, Mezzoforte, Al Jarreau, Toots Thielemans and many others.

In 2014 ‘Lover Never Felt So Good’ was the first song on Michael Jackson’s Xscape album.

All percussion for this song was done by Jeroen, as for 3 tracks on the 2014 David Guetta ‘Listen’ album, including the single ‘What I Did For Love’.

Since January 2014 ‘Percussion Loops HD’ App is available in the iTunes Store and sells worldwide.

It is a huge set of percussive sounds and time stretchable loops in all popular tempos and styles, all recorded by Jeroen.

Also in 2014 he started ‘N.E.W.S.’, together with the 'Global Performance Artist Group’.

This concept is about drumming from the 4 corners of the world ’North, East, West & South', with 4 drummers representing those corners.

Since 2000 Jeroen records for all sorts of projects from his ‘Percussion Today Home Studio’.

Spherical and groovy Protools tracks end up in dropboxes on all continents.

Jeroen is bandleader and percussionist for Cape Verdian star singer Suzanna Lubrano since 2008.

He is co-producer on several tracks on the 2015 album 'Vitoria'.

Since 1998 he is owner of ‘Baileo Music Productions', a CD/DVD label - ± 55 CD’s released - and ooking agency.

Jeroen was chosen 'Best Percussionist of the Benelux' in '98, ’99, ’00, ’01, ’02, '03, '06, '07, ‘09 and again in 2012 by the readers of ‘Slagwerkkrant’.
