Serdar Ortac, İstanbul Percussionist
Suat BORAZAN, born in 1962 in Eskişehir, started making music in Frankfurt province of Germany when he was 14. He continued his music life in Germany from 1977 to 1996.
In 1989, he moved to the Cairo, Egypt for an extended period of time. Whilst there he performed with the famous artist Muhammed FUAT and accompanied many other well known Egyptian artists on their albums.
He settled in Istanbul in 1996 where he started doing session work for local and foreign artists on albums and in live situations. He has since added his own flavour to many domestic and foreign jazz festivals with his drum rhythms.
In 2001, he formed the first drum rhythm group consisting of 9 members. This group toured many places around the world. The drum group consisting of 4 people was called HAREM. This band has put out 4 albums which are available in 52 countries around the world.
In 2003, assisted in the creation of a percussion plug-in instrument program including many signature Arabic and Turkish rhythms patterns for the first time under the creative forces of M-Audio & Wizoo in Germany.
In 2006, Group Mozaik consisting of 4 members started playing jazz around the world. Group Mozaik performed its last concert at the Berlin Jazz Festival.
In 2007, he performed on with the global artists Selva GANESH, Glen VELEZ, Keith CARLOK, Rhani KRIJA, Keyvan CHEMIRANI at the Bigbang Percussion festival organized in Netherlands and did a tour consisting of 5 concerts in various cities.
He attracted the attention by organizing a rhythm workshop in 2008 in Musik Messe Frankfurt with JR Robinson, who was a globally known drummer who accompanied such artists as Michael Jackson and Madonna.
His new group band, Group İstanbul Percussionist consists of one DJ and four percussions. The group carries out its studies with various concerts and organizations.
