Triumphal Procession
28Mar 2012
Back from Frankfurt with lots of new ideas and an award for the best percussion product in 2012... YES!
We got our eighth m.i.p.a. award for the Slap-Top Cajon.
The unique cajon is a conceptual step up to a new level. It is designed to bring the striking surface up closer to the player for a more upright playing style. The sound projects forward into the audience. High and low tones as well as a snare effect are built in to the sound board. The invention was given to us by Michael Buchner.
Thanks to everybody that came by our booth! Thanks for the good business, the constructive feedback, and the positive vibes.
But most of all: thanks to our customers for loving our instruments - we put our heart and soul into their creation!
Check out some impressions from the show.

MEINL PERCUSSION RAISES THE BAR... OVER AGAIN
12Jan 2012
Dear readers,
Greetings from our German headquarters - we wish you all the best for 2012!
I proudly can say that we are very optimistic for the new year due to our felicitous novelties. We have more than 60 new items that we are going to introduce at the upcoming NAMM show in sunny California next week!
Yes, we raised the bar over again :-)
We have so many new high-lights that I find it difficult to call one a favorit. But I definitely love the new ARTISAN EDITION CAJONS and the ARTISAN EDITION TAMBOURINES - real gems!!!
The new SLAP-TOP CAJON which allows the player many great possibilities is also very cool... It's just like a drum kit on your lap and absolutely comfortable to play - make sure to check it out!
Same for the MARACLAVES, the MULTI-JINGLE STICK, or the UNIVERSAL TRIANGLE! Man, I could go on and on...
Just visit our booth if you have a chance (NAMM show, Anaheim, booth #3454). We'll be happy to show you our new inventions.
MEINL artist Joannie Labelle will be at our booth, helping me to demonstrate the new instruments.
If you're not able to attend the show - download our new catalog here.
Sincerely,
Mario Schmitt
PS. Find enclosed two new videos. More will follow soon.

We've cooked up lots of new inventions and innovations and elaborated them with uncompromising craftsmanship for the most discerning of players!
The catalog and all new instruments will be introduced at the upcoming NAMM show in Anaheim - sunny California. You'll find us at booth #3454.
I am looking forward to it and I hope to see some of you there as well!

CUSTOMER SUPPORT
04Nov 2011
Yesterday I got a nice email from a happy customer who had trouble with one of our instruments:
"Hey buddy,
Thank you so much. I have been telling everyone about you and Meinl. I have been a musician all of my life and this is the best customer service I have ever received. Thank you from one musician to another."
This one is for you, Garrett Davidson!

MADE IN INDIA
19Aug 2011
during my recent trip through india, i visited the supplier of our professional tabla set (PRO-TABLA).
very interesting to see this extremely detailed and diligent craftsmanship!
a worker needs about two days to finish a tabla - only putting the heads on the dayan or bayan (shells) and to pre-tune them accordingly. it takes about 6 to 7 hours, just to put multiple layers of syahi (black paste) on the head.
very impressive and makes me proud to have such beautiful instruments in our assortment!

we got many wicked items that will blow your mind!
all new gear will be introduced at NAMM in january 2012.

MEINL bongo cajon comparison
22Jun 2011
take a look at the video link from larry salzman.
it shows him playing with our bongo cajons. he switches between the regular bongo cajon with strings (BCA2NT/EBK-M) and the new professional version (PBCA1NT/EBK-M).
it's kinda cool to see / hear the difference between those two instruments.
did you try both versions by yourself? if so, which version do you prefer?
