How we make it

Congas

Rubber Wood stock is sawed to desired thickness for conga staves.
Glued double-layered staves are bent into shape in a large press.
After bending, the staves have to be carefully checked for proper shape.
A set of staves are pre-assembled and glued together by hand.
The profile is cut by lathe.
Conga rims are being checked and prepared for the finishing process.
Sanding a perfect surface is skilled work.
Logo is hand silk screened on a conga head.
A lot of work and quality control goes into each Meinl Conga before it's ready to be packed.
