The new MEINL Napa Heads add a whole new flavor for the low-end drums. The heads feature a two-layer construction with a strong, thin mylar (plastic) underlayer, and a soft Napa surface, securely bound together in a metal hoop. The thicker surface layer dampens and softens the attack, while eliminating any unwanted higher frequencies. They are easily switched with our traditional surdo heads for a very different sound, lending a kind of surging or swelling feeling to a groove.
