Biography
In 2010, he completed his bachelor's degree in double bass in the Department of Music, Faculty of Education, Selçuk University. In the same year, Orff-Schulwerk he started training on Elementary Music and Movement Pedagogy. He still continues his deepening studies and research in this area.
He was entitled as the National Orff-Schulwerk Educator Trainer with the training he completed in September 2016. He completed the “Orff - Institute Postgraduate University Course: Advanced Studies in Music and Dance Education” Special Course program at the Orff Institute of Mozarteum University on a full scholarship in the 2018-2019 academic year to be an instructor in the Anadolu Orff Music Education Project.
Between the years 2014 and 2018, he was the percussion instructor for the Yeditepe University Music Club Rhythm Factory.
He continues his career as a lecturer for Orff-Schulwerk Elementary Music and Movement Pedagogy courses in the Department of Preschool Education at the Faculty of Education at the Private Medipol University and İstanbul Kültür University.
He continues to serve as Project Coordinator and Primary School Founding Instructor for Yeni Mevsim Schools.
Since 2018, KODA's (Village Schools Exchange Network) “Music and Movement” has been serving as a volunteer education consultant.
He takes a role in the Ministry Of National Education General Directorate of Teacher Training and Development, 1 Teacher 1000 Rhythm In-service Training Project as an instructor.
He works on Turkish, Latin American, African music and rhythms such as cultural integration, composing, research and instrument making.
Since 2010, he has been giving training students from different educational levels such as pre-school, primary education, secondary education, and undergraduate and organizing seminars and workshops different professional groups including adults with Orff-Schulwerk, and percussion.
İlkay Nişancı accompanies Fatih Erdemci, the Turkish songwriter and composer-singer, on stage as a percussionist and drummer.
