Biography
Vita Double Drums
Alexander Glöggler and Philipp Jungk studied classical percussion at the Hochschule für Musik in Munich with Prof. Dr. Peter Sadlo. In 2004 they graduated with a master class diploma and founded the percussion duo "Double Drums". In addition to their normal concert activities, they gave over 100 concerts as scholarship holders of the "Live Music Now" association founded by Yehudi Menuhin.2010 Double Drums were awarded the Bavarian Arts Promotion Prize by the Bavarian State Ministry for Science, Research, and Art. 2016 the two received the Upper Swabian cabaret prize "Ravensburger Kupferle".
Double Drums were a TV show act at the "Bavarian Film Award 2013", the "Großen Kleinkunstfestival der Wühlmäuse 2018" with Dieter Hallervorden and presenter Dieter Nuhr at rbb, "Volle Kanne 2017" at ZDF, "Pufpaffs Happy Hour" on 3 Sat, the "Frühlingsfest der ARD" and the "Adventsfest der 100. 000 Lichter der ARD".
2011 and 2013 with Florian Silbereisen, the "Tigerentenclub 2019" on ARD/SWR, and as guests in the "Abendschau" and "Wir in Bayern" on Bavarian television.
As soloists, they performed with the Munichhamber Orchestra, the Hofer Symphoniker, the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra, and the Munich Radio Orchestra.
Double Drums performed at renowned festivals such as the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, the Ludwigsburg Schlossfestspiele, the Kissinger Winterzauber, the Mosel Music Festival, the European Weeks and the Hong Kong Arts Festival.
The unusual musical spectrum of her work has led her to collaborate with artists such as Sol Gabetta, Alexander Liebreich, Florian Silbereisen, Thilo Wolf, Jörg Widmann, and Hermann Weindorf, and her concert tours have taken her from Europe to China, Taiwan, South Korea, Brazil, Uruguay, Chile, Colombia, and Argentina. The following CD productions of Double Drums have been released to date: Alpha (2007), Mehr (2011), Circles (2012), Groove Symphonies (2016) Groovin` Christmas (2019)
Alexander Glöggler and Philipp Jungk have also been involved in projects for children and young people for years, giving percussion concerts and workshops with an integrative character in schools and have already inspired tens of thousands of children with their music.
