Biography
Edwin Clemente is a Puerto Rican musician who is considered one of the best percussionists in the world. He currently works with his own orchestra, with which he has produced four major musical productions, namely: Timbal Pa'l Bailador, Aqui Traigo la Rumba Bailador, Two Generations in Salsa and Viva Clemente. The latter in the Latin jazz genre and the other three in the salsa genre. His orchestra was chosen to open the National Zalsa Day 2011 and achieved a great presentation.
He is also part of the orchestras of Richie Ray and Bobby Cruz, Ismael Miranda and Tommy Olivencia para la historia and Puerto Rico All Stars. He has participated in more than two hundred (200) musical productions including: Richie Ray and Bobby Cruz “40th Anniversary”, “Que Vuelva la Música”, Ray Barreto “50th Anniversary”, Jerry Rivera, Tony Vega, Olga Tañón (Grammy Awards), Lalo Rodríguez, Daddy Yankee, Manny Manuel and Puerto Rico All Stars, among others. He currently works as a visual arts teacher in Bayamón.
He has participated with great artists such as; Jose Feliciano, Eddie Palmieri, Fania All Stars, Bobby Valentin, Jose Alberto El Canario, Rubby Haddock, Jerry Riverea, Batacumbele, Cheo Feliciano, Tony Vega, Gilberto Santarosa, Don Omar, Daddy Yankee, Wisin y Yandel and Tego Calderon. He was invited by the PR Symphony Orchestra to accompany Richie Ray and Bobby Cruz in the Salsa Clásica concert series. He was invited for the U.S. tour of the concert series Viva Puente directed by maestro Cuco Peña. Throughout his career he has visited different countries such as: France, England, Spain, Italy, Malaysia, Switzerland, Holland, Slovenia, Belgium, Germany, Japan, USA, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Colombia, Venezuela, Panama, El Salvador, Dominican Republic and Peru among others.
