Biography
„hear what music needs“
Born in a small village in Upper Austria, Christian soon discovered the world of rhythm. Having great fun with music and the desire to understand the world of rhythm has always been his stimulation.
After his studies at the local music school, he continued studying with Stefan Spatz at the free music academy in Passau.
Los Angeles was his next destination, where he successfully finished his studies at the Los Angeles Music Academy.
His teachers were Michito Sanchez, Emil Richards, Joe Porcaro, Ralph Humphrey, Mike Shapiro, Jerry Steinholz, Tony Inzalaco, Dave Beyer, Mike Packer, Aaron Serfaty, Sherman Ferguson, Billy Hulting, Richie Garjate-Garcia,... and these great guys more and more opened Christian’s understanding and feeling for rhythm.
In the course of these studies, he had the opportunity to cooperate with John JR Robinson (Michael Jackson/Chaka Khan,...) in the studio.
After returning home to Austria he graduated at Anton-Bruckner-University in Linz with a bachelor's degree on the drums and a master's degree in percussion with Stephan Maass.
In 2012 Christian took delight in improving his percussion skills with Alex Acuna. While studying he already could show his skills in national and international bands and studio projects.
As live and studio Drummer/Percussionist with Rainhard Fendrich, Christian Kolonovits, Neil Taylor (Guitarist Robbie Williams), Richard Schönherz, Wolfgang Ambros, Bobby Kimbal, Wolfgang Niedecken(BAP), Makossa&Megablast, Sandra Pires, Joni Madden, Monika Ballwein, Annemarie Höller&Mario Berger, Late Night Big Band,... he is very much asked for.
Since 2006 he is an endorser for Meinl Percussion.
