Biography
Georg Edlinger has studied drums at the Franz Schubert Conservatory in Vienna and at the Bruckner Conservatory in Linz. Further percussion training at the Timeline International Music school and the Academia de danzy y musica Havana (Cuba).
He has performed as a live and studio musician and composed music for advertising (Hugo Boss), theatre (Shaolin & Wudang), exhibitions, performances (Scal Gala), and films (the making of Kling Klong, Nosferatu, etc).
Throughout his career, Georg has played numerous national and international festivals (Kaleidophon Ulrichsberg, Wiesen, Bayrisches Jazzfest Regensburg, Cajon Festival Schwalmtal, etc.). With different groups and projects (Tanga, Electric Mantra, Universal Rhythm Blasters, Bambu Radio) he has played tours in many European countries.
He has recorded a number of CDs (Percussion Beyond the Timelines, Universal Rhythm Blasters at Work, Shineform, etc).
Georg is teaching drums and percussion at the Franz Schubert Conservatory in Vienna (Akademie for ethno percussion), at the Collective Workstation of Music in Amstetten and on numerous seminars and workshops.
He is also the author of the books “Cajon”, “Conga”, “Djembe” “Ethno Percussion”, “Small Percussion”, “Bongo”, “Darabuka”, “Rhythmik” etc. and he has released videos for percussion learning.
