Biography
Philipp Jungk studied percussion with Prof. Peter Sadlo at the University of Music Munich and graduated with the master class. During his studies he regularly performed with all major Munich symphony orchestras, the Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra and various bands. Together with Alexander Glöggler he forms the percussion duo "Double Drums", with whom he performed not only numerous concerts and TV appearances throughout Europe but also with the Munich Radio Orchestra, the Munich Chamber Orchestra and the Thilo Wolf Big Band. With Double Drums Jungk received the Bavarian Art Promotion Prize 2010 and the Upper Swabian Small Art Prize 2016.
He is also a member of the "Li Biao Percussion Group", whose tours have taken him to China, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Colombia and the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg.
Philipp Jungk is percussionist of the ensemble "Operas in Bavarian" and since 2019 lecturer at the University of Music and Theatre Munich.
