Biography
The last name Barreto is a synonym of musical excellency in Cuba, thanks to this family’s talents. Rodney performs with numerous prestigious bands including Isaac Delgado, Interactivo, Elmer Ferrer, Alexander Abreu & Havana d'Primera, Omara Portuondo and Diego El Cigala, and Chucho Valdés, with whom he won a Grammy for the CD "Live in Marciac" and was nominated for another with the CD "Comanche” and El Comité. In 2021, he released his first solo CD-DVD "Drummer Negrito", which was pre-nominated for the Latin Grammys 2021 and won the Cubadisco award in the category "Making Of".
