Simon Popp
Biography
Simon Popp is a drummer and composer based in Munich, Germany.
A graduate in jazz drums (B.M. & M.M.) at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich, his unique approach and versatility have lead Simon to work alongside many artists, producers, and composers of all different kind of genres in both recording studios and live sessions. As a performing drummer, he currently tours with bands like Fazer, Roosevelt, Abstand, Runden as well as his solo project "Popp" and various jazz formations. His band Fazer is the recipient of the music scholarship from the City of Munich 2017 and the Burghausen International Jazz Festival's Young Artists' Jazz Award 2017.
In 2016 Simon co-founded his own drum school in Munich.
In 2019 he released his solo debut "Laya".
