Biography
Heir of the Nicasio family (Afro-Cuban/Peruvian percussionists), Williams "Makarito" Nicasio is a multi-percussionist, dancer, and afro Peruvian tap dancer with more than 25 years of an artistic career.
He joined the Peru Negro group at age 16. "Qualified artist" of the National Ensemble of Folk Music and Dances of Peru of the National School of Folklore.
He accompanied, among others, Carlos Santana, David Byrne, Jean-Pierre Magnet, Eva Ayllon, Alex Acuña, Pepe Vásquez, Cecilia Barraza, Lucila Campos, Arturo "Zambo" Cavero, Oscar Avilés, Los Negros de Miércoles, Los Hijos del Sol, Aconquistar, Teatro del Milenio - Kimbafa, Del Pueblo del Barrio, Novalima, La Timba Criolla.
