Andreas Ekstedt Biography

Andreas Ekstedt is one of Swedens most established pop percussionists. He has toured with many of Swedens most famous pop artist, performed in theater shows and musicals.

He has also done numerous national tv shows, over 150 live appearances and counting. 

Andreas’s greatest musical asset has always been his wide range of style and genres. He has done everything from hip hop drumming to classical mallets, world music, jazz and live looping. A great part of his musical career he has devoted to Brazilian percussion. After classical percussion studies, Andreas was accepted as one of the first ever jazz percussion students at the Royal college of Music in Stockholm. He graduated in 2006 and has since then been working as a freelancing percussionist. 

Andreas also has is own recording studio in Stockholm where he records percussion for bands and artists. He also produces electronic beats and was one of the first in Sweden really embracing electronic percussion, translating pop productions into live playing before it was custom using backing tracks. He has participated in many successful record productions, most recently for smooth jazz pianist Jonathan Fritzen (Billboard no 1) and Dirty Loops.
