Biography
Samuel García Viera, better known as “Sammy García” is a recognized Percussionist, Musical Director and Producer from New York City where he started his musical career at the age of 16 years old. Sammy, now based in Puerto Rico, has performed live and in recordings with Salsa Legends such as Willie Colon, Celia Cruz, Johnny Pacheco, Tito Nieves, Andy Montañez, Marc Anthony, Oscar D’Leon, among others. Sammy García’s playing has been heard and seen in venues like Madison Square Garden, Barclays Center, all over the East & West Coast, Hawaii, Colombia, Peru, Panama, Ecuador, Dominican República, Chile, Canada, Europe and Japan. He is currently the Musical Director and Conga player for Charlie Aponte.
